The Bridge, Evening – Massimo Magee
The Bridge, Evening is an audiovisual digital art object by Massimo Magee, designed to be read by the computer as both a visual still image and as an audio piece, these being two readings of the same file. The title is a nod to Sonny Rollins. The piece was shaped across both visual and audio domains functionally simultaneously, meaning that a change in the visual domain also affected the audio, and a change in the audio also affected the visual. It contains the sounds of image data with digital treatments, as well as virtual piano and Magee’s live tenor saxophone playing. It was all created at Massimo Magee’s studio in London, UK.
